Christmas Picnic/BBQ     7th December 2008

At Fort Largs Police Academy.

We had a wonderful day with about 40 of us sharing a picnic/BBQ at the Fort Largs Police Academy facilities, then the traditional strawberries, cream and ice cream provided by the club and capably arranged by Lisa Mills, and her helpers and this was very much enjoyed by all. There was even enough for seconds when it came to this delectable dessert. This was followed by a very informative tour with our very own knowledgeable guide, Michael Wright. He had a number of stories to tell us about the Fort and its former days.......and it was great to see this facility,........ an area so steeped in history. We enjoyed this close encounter with the past and its importance in defending our shores. That jolly man, Father Christmas was not to be missed too......He made a special visit ensuring we all left with bags of Christmas Loot ...... what heavy bags they were too.........I certainly enjoyed gobbling up my lolly loot over the next few days. Thankyou to Lisa and to Michael for your input in what was an enjoyable day for us all. Tilly, my Ridgie enjoyed the company too.
