WILL OF JOHN FARROW

 

IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN this fourth day of May in the twelfth year of the reign of our sovereign Lord George by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland, King defender of the faith, Anno Domini 1726.

I, John Farrow of Bildeston in the County of Suffolk, Blacksmith Although at this time of Reasonable Good health of Body and of Sound & Perfect Mind & Memory. Thanks be given to Almighty God therefore, Yet Considering the frailty of my Life & Certainty of my Death & how soon it may happen to me my God Only knows do make & ordain, do make this my Last Will and Testament. Commending my Soul into the hands of Almight God my maker Who gave it & my body to this Earth from whence it came in Christian like manner buried at the will & discretion of my executrix hereinafter to be named. And as touching that part and portion of Worldly Goods which God have Graciously lent me I give and Dispose therefore as followeth and my mind and desire is that all my just Charges debts, funeral charges and probate of this my will be first well & truly Satisfied Contained and paid

IMPRIMIS I give and bequeath unto Judith Farrow my Loving Wife All That my freehold Messuage or Tenement Lands and Premises whatsoever lying and being in Stansfield in this County aforesaid to hold to her my wife for and during the Term of her natural Life. And to dispose of them amongst my Children at her own Will and Pleasure ITEM I further Give and Bequeath to my Wife All That my Copyhold Messuage or Tenement Situate in Bildeston aforesaid to hold to her for and during the term of her natural Life and to dispose of amongst my Children at her own Will and pleasure ITEM I Give and Bequeath unto my sons John Farrow all my Working Tools and all my Stock of Goods in my Shop. And I do Nominate and Make Judith my Loving Wife sole Executrix of this my Will and so revoking all former Wills I do declare this Writing to be my last Will and Testament.

Sealed Subscribed, published & declared by the sd. John Farrow to be his Last Will & Testament in the presence of us John Lurkay, Ben. Wright and Thomas Farrow PROBATUM (Latin- probate granted to Judith Farrow October 1727)
