Moe - Walhalla line

Opened with the line as Copper Mine siding.

With the closure of the line from Walhalla on Friday 31/3/1941 Platina became the terminus. Normally trains terminated at Erica, running only to Platina when needed. This created an unusual terminus for trains as there were no run-around facilities.

Platina required hand-shunting and temporary storage of vehicles on the main line. The line was downhill from the left (from Erica). For terminating trains either the locomotive would need to be detached and parked on either the main line or a siding whilst the van was rolled onto a siding (or the main line beyond the siding). Plotting the necessary moves to shunt White Rock Siding is an interesting exercise.
