Belgrave Yard to 1958

Return to the Belgrave page.

The Victorian Railways Weekly Notices announced the following alterations at Belgrave:

7/6/1909
provided with an Annett lock attached to the train staff.
15/8/1910
Provision of up and down home signals, but marked Not in use.
3/2/1913
Provision of #2 road.
3/11/1913
Provision of a crossing loop.

The first item implies that there was a siding to lock. The last may imply the re-defining of an existing road, or the provision of an additional road. My guess is that the #2 rd provided was designated a crossing loop meaning that it was not to have vehicles left in it.

The bridge at the down end of the yard marks the beginning of Puffing Billy's restored track.
