God's HELP - Lazy Bible Reader
I want to be a Christian
"When anyone is joined to Christ, he is a new being; the old is gone, the new has come" - 2 Corinthians 5:17
Points to consider before you decide to become a Christian...
- Once you choose to become a Christian, remember it's a life changing event that requires you to be committed not just for a day but, for the rest of your life.
- Christians will still experience problems, challenges and temptations in life, however they have God for support through Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
- Accepting Christianity means that you accept and believe in God, Jesus Christ ( who died for you and rose again), and the Holy Spirit as alive and real.
- Being a Christian means that you will want an ongoing relationship with God, growing and learning more about God everyday ( not just on Sunday).
- Being a Christian means you will try your best to apply what you have learned from God in todays world with people you meet daily.
- Christians are no better than anyone else on earth ( we're all sinners). The only difference being that God will forgive you if you sincerely believe in him.
- Try and make regular time to read God's Word (the Bible) in a quiet location, and God may reveal more to you, or bring you peace.
- Don't forget to apply God in all that you do at home, work and with friends in a loving way.
- Unfortunately Christians are sometimes seen by non believers as "goody two shoes", or "no fun" people. Beware - you may be treated differently, but this is a test of your faith. Ask God to give you the right words to say in these situations.
- Becoming a Christian may mean you may have to look at your own life, and ask Gods help to change your ways to please him. Surprisingly, at the same time you may discover the true peace that God's love brings.
- Wonderfully, you don't have to pass a qualifying test (just believe in God).
- Don't feel that you've been so bad that you're not good enough for God, because... God wants to help everyone who sincerely asks for forgiveness and chooses to believe in him.
It might seem heavy, but it is an important choice.
However,do remember...
God loves you very much
God wants you to know about him, so he can have a relationship with you
God wants to help you and be with you everyday, because he loves you
The question remains... "Do you want God in your life?"
