Irish
Music: The Session Experience
Participants
required to provide their own instrument.
Covers
basic rudiments in most
traditional instruments, some easy tunes to get you started, and the
opportunity to play with experienced musicians. Also focuses on simple
accompaniment techniques & rhythms for jigs, reels and polkas.
Bush
Music: The Big Bush Band
Participants
required to provide their own instrument.
The
focus is mainly on getting musicians started to play for bush dancing -
types of tunes, organising music into sets.

Dance workshops for all
ages:
A
wide repertoire of Australian and Celtic dances drawn from the Irish
Ceili, Scottish Country and Australian Bush & Colonial traditions,
to new dances being created in the traditional style and dances from the
Americas.

Participation
activities for young people in a variety of folk traditions:
Australian tradition.
Songs, stories & music from the Australian tradition caters for young
people from age 6 to junior primary level. Duration approx. 30-45mins.
African rhythms.
This workshop is suitable for upper primary and lower secondary level.
Participants will learn and perform a simple African song with
polyrhythmic accompaniment.
Latin rhythms.
This workshop is suitable for upper primary and lower secondary level.
Group guitar
sessions.
Participants required to provide their own instrument.
This workshop is suitable for upper primary and lower secondary level with
very little or no previous guitar experience.
