Standard Paling Fences
Standard Construction: Using 1800mm / 1500mm / 1200mm CCA hardwood or pine palings, butted together or with a small gap, fastened to three 75 x 38mm CCA hardwood rails for 1800mm / 1500mm high fences or two rails for less than 1500mm high. On the higher fences, the rails are usually spaced so that the fence is poolsafe from both sides of the fence (Refer second picture below). Palings are double nailed to each rail. Rails are attached to 100 x 75mm CCA hardwood posts with batten screws. Posts are usually spaced up to 2.4 metres apart and concreted approximately 600mm inground. All timber used is fencing grade.
