CLANNAGAEL EMBER

	Six weeks old on a visit to the Vet for her PSS test - the entire litter was clear. (Porto Systemic Shunt is a congenital, usually inherited, condition resulting in a severely shortened and poorer quality life for any affected pups unless surgical intervention is made. It is good breeding practice to test all IW pups - even if it isn't known if the condition has been present in any offspring of ancestors.) 	My intention was to show Pinot, but she unfortunately injured her right rear leg. She could still catch rabbits, but the injury is quite obvious as she gaits at the trot. Here she is on her first birthday watching the roos running across the neighbour's paddock...

Pinot at 7 years of age.	Pinot died in my arms on December 18th 2005, four days after the vet made "two errors of judgment" (his words) while spaying her. She had a pyometra twice before so I thought I was doing the right thing to eliminate that future possible health emergency. She lost a lot of blood. She seemed to greatly improve over the next few days but I woke up that Sunday morning at four a.m., we looked at each other, she shook her head twice like trying to clear something, I went to hold her, she moaned a few times and died. It still makes me cry at the oddest times... She should still be here with me. "....Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you... ZANANDO DANNY BOY

Here's Danny Boy at 20 months old - he came to live us when his owner went overseas for an extended period. He grew to be a big hound with a beautiful temperament. Danny was bred by Cath & Colin Scott of Zanando Kennels in Western Australia. Pedigreee for Danny Boy

CH. GREIRISH OFFLINE (IMP. SWD)

When I decided to become more involved with conformation showing with a desire to eventually breed, I decided to import a wolfhound that I hoped might add to the gene pool in Australia. I began to research pedigrees and wolfhounds around the world. Like most everyone else, I was looking for a 'type' of wolfhound that I felt could perform the function for which the breed was originally bred. Just as important was temperament, good health and longevity in prior generations. As a result of that search, Jake came to join us at 14 weeks old. He is 12 weeks in this picture shortly before he left for Australia. Jake was bred by Per Lundstrom of Greirish kennel in Sweden. Pedigree for Jake

	Jake hasn't been shown much since he became a Champion as it is not his favourite way to spend a weekend, but his other show results included: Fremantle All Breeds Championship Show - October, 2003 Best In Group Harvey All Breeds Championship Show - October 2003 Best Intermediate In Group Bunbury & Districts All Breeds Champ. Show - October 2003 Best Intermediate In Group Jake's breeder, Per Lundstrom, came from Sweden to visit Jake in April 2004. While Per was here, he was able to show Jake at the NSW Irish Wolfhound Club Championship Show on the Easter weekend. Jake won the Reserve Dog CC behind Gr.Ch. Tirsilin Celtic Knight (the first grand champion wolfhound in Australia). He was also Best Intermediate in Show as well as the dog with the 'Best Head'. The judge was irish wolfhound breeder Jocelyn Gagne (prefix Starkeeper) of Canada.
