Life: Blink and you will miss it! |

Death What is death? It is the discontinuation of life. What is life? In this context I describe life as consciousness and awareness of the existence of the self. Therefore Death is discontinuation of the this awareness. As far as we know. It would be nice to say there is death after life, and some have had experiences which seem to prove there is a continued existence of the self, however beyond the “pure white light” what do we really know. That is KNOW. Not assume, surmise or guess. Well, simply I don’t know what will happen when I lose consciousness or awareness of this reality or plane of existence. I have had some interesting experiences that might prove there is some form existence after death, or might prove I have an overactive and vivid imagination. So let’s say that death is when life discontinues, and beyond that we don’t know. What does this mean? It means life. In this level of existence, because there is death, so there is life. One cannot exist without the other. If there was an elixir to eliminate death, we would eliminate life. So because we are walking dead already we should embrace life to its fullest. Stop being afraid. Live every moment of life as if it were your last because it may well be. In Jared Diamonds book – The rise of fall of the Third Chimpanzee – is a great discussion on the physiological reasons for dying. If you are interested in finding out more about this topic I suggest reading that book, in fact if you have any interest in humans as a species I suggest it! |
