How to Channel

We can all channel if we just learn to listen. Below are the nine points offered to help you remember this form of listening.

1. Identify your first form of channeling. Each one of us has access to the source of all inspiration. It is our connection to our higher self. When Beethoven tapped into this source, out came the 5th symphony. You can be taught to be left handed if you're right handed, but it's important to know that you have more natural abilities as a right hander. You can be taught to be an empath or a psychic, but your first form of channeling may be as a musician. If you're a writer then psychometry may not be your thing. Finding your first form of channeling is an important part of getting comfortable with this process.

2. Learn to interpret the energy. You're going to hit a few wrong notes when you begin, so give yourself some room to grow. If you keep at it you will soon learn to interpret these gentle nudges from Spirit. We seem to think that if it's not perfect, then it's not from Spirit. Most of the time we are just interpreting the energy incorrectly. As these pictures form in your mind, it's up to you to put words to them. If the information is not accurate at first it simply means that you're not interpreting the picture correctly. Spirit rarely speaks to us in definitive terms. Mostly the ideas are hazy, gentle nudges. Learning to listen to these gentle nudges and trust what comes through is the essence of spirit communication.

3. Open new synaptic pathways. There are exercises you can do to open new synaptic pathways in the brain. Simple practical things like brushing your teeth with your non-dominant hand. Driving a new route to work each day. Doing things differently forces your brain to build new synaptic pathways between the right and left hemispheres. There are many exercises that help to accomplish this. Physical exercises that force both sides into action like tracing finger labyrinths are excellent. Many simple breathing techniques can help as well. Balancing both sides of the brain opens the door for Spirit to speak to you.

4. "Lean" against the information and ground the information. To illustrate the flow from Spirit we will use the analogy of a big balloon with two openings. Spirit blows energy and inspiration into your balloon, but they have to stop when the balloon ifs full. To keep the flow going it is necessary to open your side of the balloon and express the energy. Paint the painting, play the music, write the book, and ground the information. This is what is termed as "leaning" against the information. If you get a message and don't deliver it, then the next time it comes it won't be as strong. Get used to connecting often and expressing the information. Create a place for the energy to flow, and it will flow more easily. Build it and they will come.

5. Release old belief systems that hold you back. You don't need to practice meditation techniques to talk to Spirit. Most people talk to Spirit while they drive to work or do the dishes. You can "tap into" the connection, even in the midst of chaos. We are now in the new energy, and things are much more direct. It is no longer necessary to reach deep states of consciousness to talk to Spirit. They are ready when we are.

6. Get over the fear of looking foolish. The greatest block to tapping into this tremendous energy is a fear of looking foolish. Get over it! Freeing yourself of the fear of what others will think of you, opens the channel for the true energy to flow.

7. Learn to speak the language of Spirit. Don't expect Spirit to speak to you in plain English. If they did, you probably wouldn't believe them anyway. They talk in their language that reflects through your own thoughts and sounds very much like your own imagination. The defensive properties of "the veil" will tell us that if it comes through us, then it can't be valuable. Let the information stand on its own merit no matter where it comes from. Use the tool of discernment and discern each message for the love content of the message and not by a label that has been placed upon it. In reality, what difference does it make where the information comes from as long as the information is full of love and useful? Where do you think those great ideas come from anyway?

8.Remove the Mystery. Mystery can exist only when there is a lack of knowledge. We all enjoy a little mystery, but when it becomes the main focus we misdirect the energy. If you don't give in too much to the mystery, then you retain you true power. It's only when you give your power to mystery that you can lose control of the conversation. If you make space for lower vibrational entities to come through, they will. Hold your power and take charge of the conversation in exactly the same you would if you were having a conversation with someone in person. You have much more power than you are aware. When we give our power away to mysticism it is like shadow boxing. Enjoy the mystical, but realize your true power lies within.

9. Practice. Mozart played the piano at age two without instruction because he mastered it in a previous lifetime and brought it forward. The rest of us have to practice. Much like the piano, you can't expect to learn it unless you practice. It's not often that we turn off the TV and say, "Honey, let's channel for each other tonight." Place yourself around people of like vibration and practice. It's also very helpful to find ways of using the information in normal conversation. A lot of channeling happens when you're talking to someone and find yourself coming out with the perfect phrase, not knowing where it came from. Make space for that to happen and it will.
