Nash: First Fleeters and Founding Families by Carol J. Baxter, 2004
Launched on 29 February 2004, the Nash family history has received much acclaim from family members, collateral connections and reviewers alike. Thank you to all of following and to the many others who have contacted me to send their unsolicited words of praise. I am truly grateful.
Keith Johnson, AM (partner in the Library of Australian History publishing company, and co-editor of the Genealogical Research Directory, Census of NSW 1828 and numerous other publications) wrote that the publication was a "meritorious piece of scholarship" with an "elegant and eloquent style". He added that the manuscript was one of the best he'd read.
Williams descendant Ruth Ross wrote: "It was a most interesting, exhaustive and incredibly put together series of Nash/Williams information and I do not know how you found it all!! You deserve a medal and I only hope that everyone who purchases your book realises what an enormous service to the family you have achieved.
Lees connection Dasha Brandt wrote: "I have been reading the book, and want to congratulate you. It is truly one of the best historical/genealogical books I have ever read. You should be proud of your achievement."
Descendant Rod
Nash wrote: "I just wanted to congratulate you on an
outstanding job with the Nash book. I collected my copies
last Sunday and was very surprised at first at the size
of the book. You certainly have done a fantastic job with
the publication."
Monaro district researcher Michelle Edwards wrote: "Your book has arrived and my goodness it looks fantastic - can't wait to sit down and start reading - good work!!!!"
Fell descendant Sandra Baker wrote: "This is just a quick note to thank you for writing such a fantastic book. I am amazed at the depth of your research and the references are superb. If only more writers took "a leaf out of your book" in regards to referencing."
Williams/Brown descendant Corrie Maitland wrote: "My book arrived yesterday. What a wonderful publication. Congratulations! Such a huge task so wonderfully completed. I started reading it immediately and continued to do so through the afternoon - while cooking tea and then during the evening meal until I could not keep my eyes open any longer. Could not put it down!
