This website records brief biographical information about the first three generations of the First Fleet Nash family and associated families. The information contained in these biographies has been extracted from the very detailed biographies published in February 2004 in Nash: First Fleeters & Founding Families - A Three-Generational Biographical History.
This publication comprises 29 detailed biographies covering each member of the first three generations. Biographies are included for First Fleeters William Nash and Maria Haynes, their son George Nash and his wife Mary Lees, and their daughter Sarah Nash and her husband John Williams. Biograhies for 23 of their grandchildren are also included.
Covering 470 pages, the publication contains over 400 pages of
biographies, two appendices, nearly 40 pages of source
references, a family chart and an index. It is A4 in size and
weighs around 1.6kg.

The Author - Professional Qualifications
Carol Baxter is a professional genealogist/historian and has
been working in the industry for nearly 20 years. She was
appointed Project Officer for the Australian Biographical and
Genealogical Record in 1984 and is the editor of six volumes of
early NSW Muster Returns published under the auspices of the
Society of Australian Genealogists. The Convicts to NSW
1788-1812 CD-ROM was published in mid-2002, and Carol is
currently editing the Shipping Passenger Arrival Records
1826-1842 for future publication. In 2002 Carol was voted a
Fellow of the Society of Australian Genealogists "for
rendering outstanding service to the Society and to
scholarship".
Carol has been tracing her family history for 26 years. She is
a descendant of First Fleeters William and Maria Nash through
their son George Nash (married Mary Lees in 1826), through their
son George Nash (married Eliza Thomson in 1854) and through their
youngest daughter Ada Nash (born 1870) who was her
great-grandmother. Carol has been preparing the Nash family
history for publication for over twenty years and concentrated
solely on this publication for four years prior to completion.
