Ashanti Douglas, aged 21, has been singing with Ja Rule (Always on time), Fat Joe (wut's luv) and writing songs for J.Lo's (ani't it funny),(i'm real). Now she has released her lasted debut album selftitled as "ashanti". First, the album features rap artists such as Ja Rule, Noterious BIG, JAY-Z, R.O.C, and The Bad Boy Family, I think it's very nice to see that they all giving this little girl a hand. ^^ Well the album also features her smash hit "foolish" which went No.1 in US chart! Confidently Ashanti has already grown her reputation by singing with all those rap artists such as Ja Rule and Fat joe, also making big hits with them. I think Ashanti's voice is very thick and rich, unlike some other female artist with those sqeeky voice which on my point of view is pretty weak. Ashanti controls her lyrics very well, and it is the essential part of singing a R&B song, as she has to sing the lyrics also meets the right beats. The first song in her album, "foolish", her leading single which went No.1 in US and achieved a substantial result in ther countries, The song was a perfectly crafted one, rhyme was very funky and R&B mixed with her brilliant vocal, clear and silky. After that there is "Happy" which appears to be her next single from the album, is it featured with Ja Rule, nice melodies and beats, she has shown her vocal very vibrantly through out the whole song, but Ja Rule doesn't sing much in that song.

Then we have "Leaving" which is the Part 2 of the Ja Rule's leading single "always on time" featured Ashanti, i quiet like this song due to the elabrated voice of ashanti to the highest and her fantastic vocals, her vocal sisters did a real great job for ashanti, contributing the most brilliant vocal mixed with ashanti's rich and smooth voice. For some how i think her next album should be "leaving" although "happy" sound pretty good to me either. However, this is not just an album packed full of club tracks. The impressive Ashanti Douglas, in demonstrating an ability to combine writing and performing chores with a high level of consistency, "Scared", "Rescue" and the excellent "Movies" are good examples of her lyrical skills, not to mention her charming sweetend voice. The next song"over" which is my fav song in the album except "foolish" ^^ well, the rhyem of the song comes out matchs with her voice perfectly and also i loved the lyrics of the song. such as "see me try, but we fight, then we cry, now it's over babe" those lryics comes with realistic truth and the real meaning of love.

. . . . . . . . . . Anywayz when the song [over]s which brings us her next outstanding song of the album "scared" featured Irv Gotti, had bit swearing at the begining, and that is why Ashanti is releasing two different types of her album one is explicit and the other is normal, well i think that's a pretty nice way to sell record to a large demands of people who likes explicit or normal, well i love explicit ~hehe.....(evil), how ever "scared" was very well made with the nice guitar string sound and truly R&B feeling~! which was really great, love ashanti and her vocals! "unfoolish", "voodoo" are the last couple of songs in her album. At the last song "thank you", well obviously "thank you" is about those thanks to haven or god and things like that where most of debut album artists does, but this her type of thank you song is very special that her voice expands no where like she sings in her entire album~ i mean it's not a bad thing~ it's totally awsome! she raised her voice to the highest point as she sings "thank you". Letting you feeling quite a sensation after u heard the album in a similair voice and then let a "thank you" song shocks you @_@!well, i think i'll just stop here. this album is highly recomanded! hope you'll like it.

I give this album "ashanti" from ashanti 3.5\5 thank you................By.EvilVice
