Boondall Division Weekly Overview 9th - 15th Feb
2009.
DWELLING BREAKS

Aspley,
Chermside & Chermside West getting hit during the evenings. Unknown
offender/s climbing 2 storeys using wheelie bin, pipes, tree etc to
climb to window & cut or remove flyscreen to enter while
complainants home.
PREMISES BREAKS

Mostly
occurred between 1800 – 0300hrs in Aspley (2), Geebung, Chermside
(3), Virginia. 3 offences on Gympie Rd.

MO –
smash or kick glass, smash hole in exterior fibro wall, cut hole in
glass.
VEHICLE OFFENCES
-
UUMV of
Holden Commodore from Chermside over weekend.

UEMV of
insecure vehicle in Maberley St GEEBUNG linked to Break in same
street. Plates only stolen from vehicle at North Boondall Railway

Boondall Division for the week ending 08/03/09.
Boondall
-
23 Burglaries were
reported: Current hotspots – 19 occurred in Chermside – majority
happened between 2nd and 3rd March. Nil
reported since 04/03/09. Distinctive MO Shown: cut flyscreens and
flick the latch.

Apart from a few
exceptions, nearly all the Burglaries occurred during the night-time
(roughly between 10pm and 6am)

A 30yr old ATSI
male with short wavy hair and acne was disturbed in Muller Rd,
-
11 B&E premises
were reported – Hot-spots: 4 in Aspley at 1344 Gympie Rd (Same
night) and 2 in Newman Rd, Geebung – majority occurred in the early
hours of the morning (0100-0300hrs)

UEMV offences
occurred in a scattered pattern throughout the Division with 2
reported in Chermside West and 2 in Virginia/Zillmere. Car stereo
equipment targeted in some instances as well as tools and rego
plates

The Brisbane City Council is giving residents the opportunity to have
21st Century home contents protection through its Microdot Kit subsidy
program.
For the subsidised price of $30, instead of the current RRP of $99, Brisbane
residents are now able to protect their valuables using a product featured
on the hit television series CSI.
So easy to use, anyone can do it!
Microdots are a high-tech, modern way to protect all your personal and
household valuables, from iPods and TVs to lawnmowers and necklaces.
The dots are applied using an aerosol can or cotton bud. Each dot is about
the size of a grain of sand and is engraved with a unique Personal
Identification Number (PIN) which is invisible to the naked eye. Each kit
also includes window and door stickers to make sure thieves know it isn't
worth their time to break into your home.
Microdots help to:
deter theft
prove ownership of stolen goods
assist police in identifying stolen goods allow police to return stolen
items
To purchase a $30 microdot kit you must be a resident or ratepayer of
Brisbane City Council. You need proof of address (e.g. drivers licence,
passport, rates notice or utility bill) and must complete a simple, one-page
registration form. However, only one kit is allowed per person.
