Great North Walk

The Walk is long distance journey from Sydney to Newcastle and the Hunter. This was an Official Bicentennial Project. Opened by the Premier in 1988, it was originally an eight year project by Garry McDougall and Leigh Shearer-Heriot. Now managed by the Land and Planning Department, the track has over 300 km of path, including feeder track in Sydney and the Hunter Valley.
At present the Track has no official website.
The WEA occasionally has a six week 'course' guiding people along the track, and many clubs do the length of the track over weekends or in sections. (see www.weasydney.edu.au)
