A Touch of Paradise
A Six Foot Track lodge stay is a touch of paradise. No more messy camping. The Lodge was built in 1997 so that you can enjoy overnight walking without the hassle of pitchigt ents and hiding from the rain! It has two cabins joined by a large landing perched above the river and the flat.It is architect designed for the simple pleasures of being close to the outdoors. It's two cabins have sheet-and-donna bedding for a comfortable nights sleep; with basic kitchen facilities, showers, toilet and gas-based cooking and lighting.
You are surrounded by pleasant woodland a riverside setting and abundant birdlife. For the adventurous there's nearby steep climbing, river circuit walks or, why not take a swim or laze around the Lodge and river pools.
And to get there you won't need to carry backpacks, tents and sleeping bags! You can walk, cycle or drive in.

Lodge Access
It's easy, simply:
  1. a day's walk from Katoomba, Jenolan Caves Road, 'Packsaddlers' or-for the very fit- Jenolan Caves
  2. a simply meander the six kilometres along the old bridle track from Megalong
  3. (if necessary) an hours drive from Mt Vic via AWD/4WD.
The Lodge is built for walkers and recreationalists, and is close to the river ( I love sitting on the landing at night, listening to the sounds of the river).

Facilities

It has all the rustic 'basics' of fresh water, toilet, hot bush showers, cosy beds and a kitchen with gas BBQ, stove, lighting and all cooking utensils. Happily, we maintain the bush ambience without electricity, telephones or TV!
The Lodge:

  • is just a hundred metres from the river
  • lays beside the Six Foot Track
  • is an easy days walk from Katoomba or Jenolan Caves road
  • provides easy access to Blue Mountains and Kanangra National Park
  • is a two hour stroll from Megalong Valley
When you arrive, there's comfortable seating and a gas cooker for that much desired cuppa. Take a look at the photos to get an idea of the place. If you book an overnight stay, we'll supply an official map for you. Happily, the track has been used since 1886, so its fairly apparent, most of the time!
