Power On Reset Mod for Soundscape HDR1 & HDR1+.
- If there is a 'Hardware not
present' message when starting the software but eventually the
software starts and runs normally, this can be caused by a reset
problem. This problem is known with some older units and
is solved by adding a reset modification to the motherboard. The
problem is more common with old units when a new drive is fitted
or a new PC is used.
...NOTE: I recommend this mod only be made by someone really technically competent, otherwise return unit to your dealer; the PC board is multilayer so BEWARE.... ......additional info: Try the 820ohm resistor (R104) and if it doesn't work, reduce it to 680, 560 ohm etc. On my Unit2 : the power/on/reset mod in this machine had been made in factory with R104 = 330ohm. Another unit would not work unless the resistor was 0 ohm ( ie shorted). .... it's a bit of a hit & miss affair sometimes...... depending on the age of your machine the mod may have already been made; in that case fiddling with the resistor value may help. From what I can gather, increasing above 820 ohm is pointless....
