Playing more than 32 tracks on SS32/REd

I have 48 takes playing quite reliably for 4 minute takes, which appears to be the max.

The take's need to be continuous (no cuts) and have some silence at the beginning and end to get this to work.

The trick is to lay the takes on top of eachother, ensuring first that one of them starts and ends slightly later than the other - generally a few frames is enough. e.g. in the picture above, the upper takes are moved down to be on top of the lower takes

Then hit them with crossfade tool customised to fastest fade-up and fade-down (Link = None, and fiddle with the graph to get the green dot to the top left, and the blue dot to the top right).

there are other circumstances that restrict the number of tracks you can do this way; e.g. you get the most when all parts are playing at max volume all the time. I notice some HDD's are better for this too.
