R.Ed & Wordclock/Superclock INPUTS

When selected to external Wordclock/Superclock input R.Ed adopts and uses the incoming sample rate thru its PLL, however it does not measure and indicate the sample rate.

• Before selecting |Settings|Master Clock|Unit1|Wordclock/Superclock, the sample rate of the incoming clock must be already known, and sample rate selection made accordingly in |Settings|Sample Rate, to ensure that correct sample rate information is recorded with each Take, and to see correct timing information in Arr, Markers , Setups etc.

Measuring the incoming samplerate in the dsp would have to happen on a continuous basis since wordclock does not contain samplerate status bits, and so would result in too much overhead and wasted resources on the hardware, at the expense of track performance etc... Also, we would not be able to denote the difference between e.g. 44.1KHz + 8.9% varispeed and 48KHz + 0% varispeed.
