On leaving school Joe completed an apprenticeship in fitting & turning.  He married Cherry Dickson his school sweetheart and they had a son and daughter.

They had a milk bar business for sometime in Melton.

Fitting and turning wasn't what he really wanted to do, so Joe went to night school and became a carpenter.

He built houses but also other projects, 2 of which have links given.  Sadly, Joe became ill and died of a brain tumour.
