Erin Ferguson

19?? - 18th March 2000

Erin was a prolific knitter and in the early years of her marriage knitted the jumpers for the Australian Cricket Team. 

A staunch advocate of the underdog, Erin often wrote to the newspapers to voice her opinion and was a strong supporter of equal pay for women.

In 1956 Home Beautiful ran a competition for an essay of 500 words or less on the merits of modern furniture. 

rin entered and won first prize, enough furniture to fill a house.  Erin taught until she retired at the age of 63,

then started back the next day under contract and continued to teach until the age of 72.  Erin died of heart failure at the age of 80.
