Working
Dogs
Here's
a bit of what else the dogs do-
making tents, boxes and campsite needs, skinning and tanning, making clothing
and everything else a viking needs to maraud in style and comfort.

Tanning
Traditional tanning methods are
used by the men of the Stray Dogs when tanning their hides. For
further information on tanning using brains, visit the tanning page.
This method has been used successfully on deer, goats and a horse
to date.
Pictured at left are Old Dog and Rowdy Dog scraping the fat and
remaining membranes from the hide prior to the braining itself.

Armour & Weapons

These items are all hand crafted by the Dogs.

Jewellery & Personal Adornment
Jewellery and personal adornment play
a large part of the presentation of a viking woman, and whether
it be a simple amber necklace, a reproduction necklace, period shoes
or sewing tools.
At left is Collie Dog stringing amber beads on a waxed linen thread.
