DEATH: His will of 1747 indicates when he died and it names his wife Jane and his children William, Martha, and Mary, the wife of Edward Walls. (from West Yorkshire Archive Service - Leeds) The manor court records for the Manor of Healaugh mention William Woodward (d.1747) and the land acquired by him between 1714 -1740 (there is an index for these records). Rowleth Close, two fields called Parrocks, and Low Intake (all near Gunnerside) were acquired by him and were passed on to his son William (1729-1796). This land is passed down for three generations and is the strongest evidence linking the family together.
