Most of the Woodward material is copied from material published by Garth R Woodward on the Ancestry.com family tree.
Baptism: Parish church records, Muker, Yorkshire.
He is the only recorded male death in Swaledale with the name of Woodward prior to 1720 so he is assumed the father of William Woodward (died 1747).
Other Possible Relations: In Jan 1719 Elizabeth, wife of William Woodward of Barf End, was buried, and on 29 Aug 1707 William Woodward of Potting was married. Barf End, Potting, and Lodge Green are small collections of houses containing perhaps 5 families each, and all of them are on the side of the hill on the north side of Gunnerside, and all of them are within 2 miles of Gunnerside. The family of Woodwards lived in this tiny area on the north side of Gunnerside for over 150 years. These people are most surely related.
