5. William BAINBRIDGE

William was a shipwright (Ref Daughter's marriage cert).
From St Peters Church Monkwearmouth records.  Ref: Megan Young

Based on the children's names it is likely that the father of William was Christopher.

1st child - Gilbert - mother's father's name
2nd child - William - father's name
3rd child - Christopher - Father's father's name
4th child - Jordon - ?
5th child - Jane - mother's name
6th child - Mary - mother's sisters name

It is thus likely that this William was the one born 1 Jan 1779 to Christopher and Elizabeth, at Monkwearmouth.

15. Jane BAINBRIDGE

According to the various census Jane was born between 1811 and 1816 in Monkwearmouth.  Her marriage certificate gives her father as William.  In the 1841 census she is living next to William and Jane Bainbridge who were almost certainly her parents.  Jane was thus born in 1814 to William Bainbridge and Jane Burn. In addition Jane's third child was called Gilbert Burn Storey after her grandfather, Gilbert Burn.

Marriage: UK GRO Oct-Dec 1837 John Storey to Jane Bainbridge, Sunderland Vol 24 Page 232
From St Peters Church Monkwearmouth records.

Jane's age changes a little in the various census and her husband is never present, presumably at sea and then deceased.
