Based on the children's names it is likely that the father of William was Christopher.

It is thus likely that this William was the one born 1 Jan 1779 to Christopher and Elizabeth, at Monkwearmouth.

15. Jane BAINBRIDGE

According to the various census Jane was born between 1811 and 1816 in Monkwearmouth.  Her marriage certificate gives her father as William.  In the 1841 census she is living next to William and Jane Bainbridge who were almost certainly her parents.  Jane was thus born in 1814 to William Bainbridge and Jane Burn. In addition Jane's third child was called Gilbert Burn Storey after her grandfather, Gilbert Burn.

Jane's age changes a little in the various census and her husband is never present, presumably at sea and then deceased.

When Mary Storey, daughter of John Storey - Shipwright, married in 1873 she gave her address as Hardwick Street, Monkwearmouth.  Mary's older sister Jane and her husband, James Archbold, were the witnesses at the wedding.  When daughter Elizabeth Storey married in 1868 James Archbold and James Robinson were the witnesses.  Both daughters gave their father as John Storey - Shipwright.
