A baptism of John Storey in 1773, son of John Storey and Magdalene Aynsley is most likely this John Storey. It is also likely John Storey and Elizabeth Dinning had a daughter called Madeline called after John's mother, Magdalene.
The marriage records of Whalton shows John Storey as a bachelor, and Elizabeth Dinnin, a spinster, both from the Whalton parish were married on 1 October 1801.
John born in 1773 was a labourer (Son John's marriage cert., and 1841 census), a grocer (Son Mark's first marriage certificate), a farmer (Son Mark's second marriage certificate, and wife Elizabeth's death certificate, daughter Elizabeth's second marriage certificate). In the 1851 census he was listed as a retired farmer born at Whalton Northumberland.
In 1841 living with John Storey was a John Storey Broad, the son of Elizabeth and Anthony Board. Elizabeth was John's (b1773) first child. In the 1851 census living with John Storey was Elizabeth Broad, a widow - his first child, and a lodger Edward Thackrey. Edward Thackray later married Elizabeth Broad. In the 1871 census John Storey's grandsons Mark and Dodds Storey were living with their Uncle and Aunt Edward and Elizabeth Thackray. This proves that Mark Storey b1816, the father of Mark and Dodds Storey, was the son of John Storey b1773.

Magdalene was John and Elizabeth's 3rd daughter. Thus they must have had another daughter after Elizabeth.

It is assumed that the above marriage was that of William born about 1778. He would have been 42 when married as a batchelor. The names oh his children seem to confirm this assumption.
