I have been painting since I was very young, inspired by my artistic mother and father who instilled in me a sense of creativity and adventure. A successful advertising designer and illustrator of books and stamps for the last 25 years, I am now painting full-time.
I grew up in New Zealand on the western coast of the North Island, just north of Wellington. The sea was my life. It was ever present. Weekends were spent sailing and family holidays always involved the sea. The enjoyment I got was from the challenges that the sea brings and also the excitement of racing yachts within these elements.
This is what I bring to my art. When I paint it’s a journey into the excitement, colour, drama, serenity, and seductiveness of the sea.
