WHAT IS A VIRTUAL SERIES?

A virtual series is a collection of downloadable script-only episodes (usually between 50 and 70 pages in length) that are written in television script format.

This particular series was created in 2006 by myself, Sarah-Jane Sheppard, as a way of developing my skills as a writer as well as being something to do in my spare time.

Releasing it in an internet writing community gave me the opportunity to get feedback on my work as well as interact with other writers - some of which have come on board to develop storylines and write episodes themselves.

Even though all episodes are posted at a first draft stage and remain unpolished and "unprofessional" (as you'll see by the use of music cues, camera angles and actor direction), I have gotten invaluable feedback from readers who continue to support this little "just for fun" project.

WHAT IS THIS SERIES ABOUT?

"The Company" is a fantasy drama about 16-year-old Vi Morgan and her adventures as part of an otherworldly corporation which is dedicated to keeping the universe in balance.

After she dies unexpectedly, Vi finds herself in an office building where she's given the opportunity to return to life. The only catch is, she has to agree to become an employee of the Company and help people out in the real world.

Vi is a normal teenager with no real drive to step outside herself and get involved in the lives of others but, because of the contract she signed, she has no choice. Now, Vi must deal with school, her family, her new "job" and the public curiousity surrounding her mysterious return from the grave.

Each episode sees Vi following Signs (messages only she can see) and receiving assignments that direct her to people who need her help. It's Touched by an Angel but with more paperwork.
