Burrowa Welsh Cobs is situated near Walwa in the NE of Victoria close to the border of NSW on the Murray river. It is a ľ hr drive from Holbrook on the Hume Freeway and 1 ˝ hours scenic drive from Albury/Wodonga via the Hume Dam.
We have been breeding Welsh Cobs at “Tipperary” for 23 yrs and were lucky enough to have the imported Sec D stallion “Gwibedog Sportsman (imp) from 1990 until his death in 1998. He and the Sec D mare Trefaes Cymraes (imp) were a great foundation for the stud thanks to Vi Myers who imported, owned and lent them both to us.
Now we have his son Burrowa Sportsman’s Last and in 2009 imported the outstanding Section D stallion Abergavenny Achilles (Imp) to use with our lovely Section D and C mares, some by ”Sportie“& some by Cwmkaren Bigley Express.
The aim of the stud is to produce quality Cobs with good temperaments that perform under saddle or in harness.
