No, but the premises do need to have a regular health inspection. The council does this inspection automatically for you and issues a certificate.

What hours can the business operate

There are no restrictions on hours, but you should be mindful that if operating late at night, patrons are expected to keep noise to a reasonable level.

 

What insurance is needed

You will need to insure your property, your staff and public risk insurance is essential. Personal accident insurance should also be considered.

Will I be welcome in town

The village of Penrose has a very welcoming population and they are very supportive of local businesses. There is also a wide demographic from young families to retirees.

 

Is there passing traffic

Yes, Penrose Rd. is a secondary road and as part of the Highland Way it is on state Tourist Drive 16. The Highland way is popular with cyclists, motor bike riders and vintage car enthusiasts as they see it as a better alternative to the Freeway.

 

This is my first time running a business, what help do I get.

The current owners will show how to operate all the equipment, will share their experiences as to what has been successful for them, introduce you to the local community and be available on call 7 days per week for advice. There are also professional bodies and Government departments that can give advice on business planning.

 

Where do I get my supplies

The current owners have contacts and arrangements with various suppliers who will deliver all supplies to your café. These include dairy, fresh meat, fresh fruit and vegetables, soft drinks, groceries and smallgoods.

 

What else can I do besides coffee, cake and lunches

In the past the café has catered for private functions, monthly evening dinners, pizza nights and Friday night takeaway.

 

What is my target market

The local community and the populations of nearby villages of Marulan, Tallong, Wingello, Bundanoon, Exeter and Sutton Forest. You can cater for lunches & functions for businesses, clubs and associations. There is also passing traffic and an unofficial “Coffee Trail” for those who like to try different cafes.

 

What is the asking price for the business
