ON SECOND THOUGHTS

At last, I’ve escaped all their nagging at home
I’m free on the streets, my life is my own
No more do this and you cant do that
I’ll please myself now and that’s a plain fact

I feel rather hungry must be time to eat
Oh well! That’s ok I’ll just look down the street
I’ll soon find a shop that sells what I like
I wish I’d remembered to bring my bike

Ah! Coke & hot chips, you know it seems funny
I thought I still had a whole lot more money
It’s getting cool now it soon will be dark
A jumper would help, might be cold in the park

I didn’t sleep much what with mozzies all biting
And those two old drunks who finished up fighting
A bottle whizzed by me and fists started flying
The noise that they made I thought someone was dying

You know maybe at home wasn’t really so bad
Mom’s a bit strict and I couldn’t fool Dad
But really they just tried to do what was right
I guess it’s my fault since I started the fight

I know that they must be worried and all
If I can find a free phone I’ll give mum a quick call
She’s not so bad she just likes things done right
And she a fabulous cook, wonder what I’ll eat tonight?
