CROWN JEWELS

When God decides to put another jewel in Jesus' crown
He doesn't use a diamond or some treasure from the ground
He takes the grief and sorrow from a bruised and broken heart
He says My Son, Ive gathered up another little part.

This precious child of ours has learned at last to let it go
And realized you bore the pain 2000 years ago
If only they would learn My Son, the price is fully paid
There is no need to reinforce the sacrifice you made.

If there had been another way we would have chosen this
But you had to know the grief of the betraying Judas kiss
And so My Son, you've earned the right,You triumphed over all
Each sorrow, sin and sickness that came with man's first fall.

You've earned the right to choose My Son, the treasure you think best
Be it some exquisite jewel like a soul that has found rest
Or a bruised and broken hearted child rejected by the world
Who embraces the SON like a priceless rose with it's petals all unfurled.

These treasures are the kind that grace the crown upon His head
Quite different from the crown He wore that wounded till He bled
But this He did with willing heart that you and I could be
Crown jewels that He now will wear for all eternity.
