CHANGING FACES
One day I heard a mother
As she chastised her young
bloke
You change your face right
now young man
Were the very words she
spoke
I thought this could be
interesting
I wonder how it’s done
But I didn’t see what
the mother saw
On the face of her young
son
You see he looked quite
cute to me
With his little pout and
frown
His sister had just won
the fight
He was feeling down
What his mother saw was
an attitude
Reflected on his face
She saw the anger in his
heart
She knew he needed grace
So many times we only see
The look they show externally
Not what’s written on
the part
That’s hidden deep within
the heart
If we’re to change wrong
attitudes
To help them to be whole
We need to look much deeper
Into the windows of the
soul
We need to read the true
emotion
Felt within the heart
Identify and understand
To set this thing apart
For their actions are
not always true
Of what’s felt deep inside
So many times strong fear
has been
Mistakenly called pride
But first we need to put
aside
The masks we daily wear
Learn to be transparent
Let the whole world know
we care
Get the joy of the Lord
into your heart
Then please inform your
face
You never know it just
might make
This world a better place
