I've just programmed my 3rd 'early' Tsunami and you are correct, the extended address must be programmed on the main, even with a PTB100 programming booster.  It is a quirk with Digitrax but it is easy to do.  Just leave the engine in the factory default number 3 and make sure no other number 3's are on the track.

Hi All,

I think this was on the Digitrax list but we can add it here also.

According to the Soundtraxx site with Tsunami firmware version 64.00.00 (Nov. 2005 release):

"Extended (4-Digit) Addresses may not program on Digitrax command stations using paged or direct mode programming.

Workaround: Use operations mode programming to set the extended address in CV 17 and CV 18. Then set bit 5 of CV 29 to enable the long address.

Resolution: This problem has been corrected with firmware release

64.01.05 for direct mode programming. Note: The PTB-100 Program Track Booster is required to use the program track of all Digitrax systems."

Firmware version 64.01.05 was released in January 2006.  The firmware version can be found (if the Tsunami is loaded with factory defaults) by reading CV7, CV105 and CV106 in the following xx.yy.zz manner.

xx = CV 7, major revision code  (64=steam, 65=diesel) yy = CV 105, minor revision code zz = CV 106, default CV value configuration

It does not matter what I PUT IN for a extended address, none of them work.  I tried just using 3  --- in extended mode--dead  CV29--  50 or 34  no difference. CV25=2

We have two engines from Loy's Toys with Tsunami and the same problem with both.  I am the second person to look at the problem.

CV29 = 50 turns on speed tables...  Try a value of CV29 = 34 and see if that works.  If it does, tell us the value in CV25...

What values do you have in CV's 17, 18, 29?

What system and throttle are you using?

New user here. Everything works in normal addressing range 0-127. Nothing works in extended addressing range. The CV17,18 and 29 look correct, but nothing happens. I have reset to factory default, so unit is not locked.
