Somebasics to get you interested
Assumingthat many readers of this page will be newcomers to the 'world of chrysanthemums', it is not the society's intention to fill your head with technical stuff right from the start.
Experience has shown that, at chrysanthemum exhibitions, enthralled visitors are attracted to the exhibitors who stand near to the blooms that have won them prizes. Get these exhibitors started in conversation and before too long they are off and running, telling you all the finer points that got the judge to 'do the right thing by them'. They really should be talking to the exhibitors they beat or, at least tone themselves down to the raw beginners level. Winners should be wanting to encourage you to have a go at them, not scare you away.
Blooms like these can be grown by a first time grower
