Queensland Government website Edit your document

Draft CD resource - Home > Designing print-based learning materials (CD) > Preparing materials that are clear and easy to understand (CD) > Edit your document

The value of a document is not proportional to its weight.  Your readers will not respect you more because you have written 100 pages instead of 20.  In fact they are more likely to resent you for making such demands on their time. (Fighting the FOG)

  • Enlarge the document so you can easily make editing notes.

  • A fresh pair of eyes often picks up the "obvious" problems that those who have worked with the document miss.

  • If possible, put your draft aside for a while, and then come back to it - you will have a fresh approach and see it quite differently
