How can you apply universal design to your learning resources?

Use this checklist to guide how your organisation provides information.  You can download this checklist as a Word document. (Note - download is not active in this draft version.)

 

o Adopt Principles of Universal Design in your organisation and ingrain these principles into organisational values and planning

o Recognise Responsibilities of training providers and incorporate them into your planning

o When converting materials in accessible formats consider:

o Provide accessible formats on request in formats including:

o Design Print-based learning materials so that they are clear and easy to understand; this means they are:

- Written for the reader

- Written clearly

- Edited

- designed carefully

- offered with options for other formats

o Design accessible web resources so that they meet International Guidelines for accessible web design
