Susan is an experienced counsellor who specializes in relationships (including separation and divorce), child development and parenting, grief and loss.

Counselling is also offered for stress, anxiety, depression, anger and aggression management, developing self-esteem, improving communication skills and life coaching.

Through counselling you can talk in complete confidence, clarify issues and determine options in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental context whilst receiving the support and confidence to resolve issues and make decisions, explore personal resources and develop new skills.

The number of sessions you may require, depends on the nature of the difficulties you are experiencing and your particular needs at the time of seeking help.

- You may need to work through a crisis and find new ways of dealing with your particular situation.

Or you may seek a deeper understanding of the fundamental mechanisms and patterns which affect your life. This may require a lengthier period of therapy .

- Couples, whether heterosexual or same-sex, seek help for a wide variety of issues concerning living together. Some seek help in a crisis - others want to work towards an understanding and a change of the current relationship…

Some couples want help to handle their separation as well as possible, for both themselves and their children.

- Parents seek help when they are concerned about their children's behaviour . They may need help to reconnect with each other as parents, as well as with their children. The goal is to understand and to meet the different individual needs of the family at this stage in their life.

Living in blended families places specific demands on the families; my children and yours …What role do I have as a step-parent? How do we nurture the couple relationship?

- In most situations, when seeking help from a counsellor, the goal is to clarify and make sense of what is happening and to remove obstacles for a more constructive communication.
