About James Williams

My name is James Williams, I have been a watchmaker for over 20 years, I have been making watches with our flag on the dial for about 6 years. It is no longer my “day job”, (I am now a computer systems engineer), but it is my hobby/pastime.

I have a functioning watchmakers workshop here in Melbourne where I design and make my watches. I currently have 2 designs, but I do have other ideas about future designs using artwork created by my nephew David, (the artwork he does is in the traditional dot painting style).

About my Watches

I currently have 2 models, the first one which is featured in the Koori Mail is a mans version. The case is made from a solid block of Brass, and it is 1 micron, 23 caret gold plated, the case is water resistant, it has O-ring seals in the crown and in the stainless steel back to protect from water penetration, (it is not water proof), the seal around the mineral crystal glass is a composite silicon seal. The band is an 18 mm genuine crocodile leather band. The watch can be repaired by any watchmaker in the world, I designed it with this in mind, it incorporates a standard watch size.

The second one I have is what I call a Unisex model, it can be worn by men or women or children, it is slightly smaller, the genuine crocodile leather band is 16 mm, the case is a 23 caret gold plated aluminium case and is water resistant with a mineral crystal glass, and has the same features as it’s big brother, please go to the catalogue page to view photos

About the Name

The brand name of my watches is “ARIKA”, this is my nieces name, the meaning of her name in our language is Blue Water Lilly, her name is used with her permission and a percentage of all sales go to her, (I must owe you a bit of money now hey Riky).
