The Mysteries of the Hebrew Letters.

The 22 paintings of the Hebrew Letters in this Gallery were inspired by my discovery that these letters have deep meanings on many levels of the physical and spiritual reality of our world. I spent three and a half years reading, meditating on, and painting these letters. The paintings are done in oils, 30”x40” on Belgian linen, and each painting has a commentary which forms an integral part of the work. I owe a great debt of gratitude to Rabbi Yitzchak Ginsburgh whose book, “THE ALEF-BEIT Jewish Thought through the Hebrew Letters” was my main resource while working on these paintings. Each of the Letters became like an Angel, or Divine Messenger to me, giving me insights which I would like to share with everyone who wants to look and see. Many meanings are hidden and revealed at the same time by the Form of each letter, its Name and the Numerical Value assigned to it. The teachings form part of the Kabbalah, the Mystical Teachings of the Jewish Tradition. The lessons that are taught by the Letters are relevant to all seekers of spiritual wisdom and form the basis for the teachings of Christianity also, showing that at the deepest, mystical level, all the major religions point to the ONE, Who is both the Source and Destination of all that is.
