Venus is said to be the roman goddess of love and beauty. It is also the brightest planet in the sky. The probe Marina2 was the first space craft to visit Venus in 1962. 20 more visits were made including space probe Marina9.Venus is covered with thick acid clouds and dense air which would crush a human in seconds, giving it the reputation of closest thing to hell in our solar system. It spins the opposite way to Earth, meaning that the sun rises in the west and sets in east. Venus is just a small bit larger then the Earth.

Venus is also the closest planet to Earth, positioned 41million kilometres from each other. Here are some images of Venus, some show the core of Venus, others might show pictures of the surface. Take a look at picture 1 as I take you through it. This is an image taken by spacecraft Marina 10 and shows the crust, mantle and core. The crust has been coloured dark red the mantle orange-red and last the core, yellow. Picture 2 displays a surface picture of a rift valley. 3 and 5 show the yellow side of Venus. Picture 4 shows both sides of Venus at once. Picture 6 displays one of Venus's volcanoes.
