The Earth has an atmosphere that is made of gas. The gas stops the heat and the oxygen from the Earth from escaping so that we don't die. The Greenhouse  Effect is when pollution that makes carbon dioxide stops the heat from  escaping. Then everything gets too hot and some plants and animals die and the weather changes.

One of the gases that causes the Greenhouse Effect is methane. Methane is a natural gas. Methane can be used to make electricity. Methane can be caused by cows farting. The Maori people in New Zealand are trying to make the cows not fart.

This picture shows the sun's heat going onto the Earth and rebounding onto a big blanket of greenhouse gas around the Earth and making it stay. It also makes things hotter on Earth.		We did an experiment. It was about the greenhouse effect. We found out that if we put a bowl over a glass of water, the heat stays in and the water gets hotter. This is what happens on Earth because of the greenhouse effect.
