Warning: As these are full size pictures, they may take quite a while to load.

Scene from Andrew Layton's layout

A scene on Andrew Layton's model railway layout (in a provincial Victorian city), showing many buses, the most prominent of which are three Bedford VALs: two with Plaxton Panorama II coach bodies (first and third) and another (earlier) one with Duple Vega Major coach body. The Plaxton-bodied coaches are built from whitemetal kits (Cotswold / Pirate Models), the Duple version is from a resin kit (Fanfare) and all are finished in fictional liveries.

Peter Greaves' Southdown bus station diorama

Peter Greaves in country Victoria built this Southdown bus station from a Corgi OOC / Metcalfe card kit. Buses from several different manufacturers are shown here, including Corgi OOC, EFE and Britbus.

Above and right: Robert Bender has built a series of large scale models of Sydney double-deckers, in AEC, Leyland and Albion guises. Illustrated here is the AEC Regent in the later blue livery, and also a detail view of the operating hand signal device. More details are available on his web pages at http://www.acay.com.au/~pb7m/buses.html

A closer view of Graeme Bennett's Australian tram and bus diorama by that was shown at the top of our Home Page. The buses are all European models converted to right-hand drive, while the Melbourne 'W' class trams are from Australian Weico Models kits.

The now defunct fleet of Deluxe Coaches lives on in Victoria, in Roger Gregory's enviable fleet of H0 scale models, all built from Weico Models whitemetal kits. Most are models of Austral Tourmaster coaches, and all exhibit structural and livery variations appropriate to the real vehicles. On the right are close-ups of two of these individual coaches.

Rod Blackburn's scratchbuilt AEC 'Q'

Rod Blackburn of Canberra's scratchbuilt plastic model of a London Transport AEC 'Q' double-deck bus. This was one of only two built to this design for LT - the second one was bombed during WWII, and this one went to the country area to join two similar central-entrance buses there.

Rod Blackburn's scratchbuilt LT 'STD' and kitbuilt 'CR'

On the right is Rod Blackburn's prize-winning scratchbuilt plastic model of a London Transport Leyland TD7 (their "STD" class).  The model on the left is an LT "CR" class Leyland rear-engined Cub, built from an RTC Models whitemetal kit.

Allen Matzel's repainted/modified EFE Leyland TD5

Allen Matzel's paper buses

Left: Victorian member Allen Matzel modified and repainted this Leyland TD5 (now withdrawn) from an EFE PD2.  It is depicted in the rather attractive colour scheme of his fictional Knoxtrans (formerly Metrobus) fleet. On the right are some of his paper buses, including a rather interesting double-articulated M.A.N. closest to the camera.
