2. John DUNCAN

There is a John Duncan with parents of William Duncan and Margaret Schiells born in Govan in 1718.  Looking at the children of John Duncan and Sarah Patterson's names this seems likely.

First child     - Jean      - Sarah's mother's name
Second child    - William   - John's father's name
Third child     - Alexander - Sarah's father's name
Second daughter - Margaret  - John's mother's name

14. Margaret DUNCAN

The marriage Bans for Margaret Duncan and Matthew Lochhead were read in Paisley on 16 July 1779 and in Govan on 4 August 1779.  As Matthew was born in Paisley it makes it most likely that Margaret Duncan was born in Govan.

Due to the naming of Margaret Duncan and Matthew Lochhead's children it is most likely that Margaret's parents were John and Sarah.
