THE Half A Class:
Pictured here is a Bolly design - great
model to fly - Powered by a OS11 engine. Model built by 14 year
old Stephen Turna - flys it in the low 20"s
Hereunder are the rules related to this class. These rules have been shorten by myself and reworded to make a better explanation. If you are serious - send me an E-Mail about what you wanted to know.
What I must say is that this class is fabulous.
These 11 size OS11PS engines are run at about 30,000 RPM on the ground, and are quite reliable. The plugs seem to last - all we need is a two channel radio to fly. So the event to us is rather inexpensive.
The models are quite small - quick to build and very fast, and a delight to fly. We often have to fly them in very windy conditions and they blast through anything
If we apply our dollar to fun - this event would come out tops over all the other classes we fly.
It is one of my favourite events, and is very popular throughout Australia.
Unfortunately the supply of OS11 ps engines has ceased - but we are determined to keep this class active - perhaps even with smaller engines - we are currently testing out alternatives - perhaps even Norvel 1 cc engines.

Only one helper is allowed - this is usually the Caller.
In the event of a cut 10% is added to the offenders score.
Scores are calculated in seconds
After four rounds are flown - the worst heat time is eliminated from the total score
After nine rounds are flown - the two worst heat times are eliminated from the total score
The winner is the person with the lowest total score (All heat times added together-excluding those eliminated)
If a person gets two cuts or more in a race his time is recorded as 200 seconds (A very severe penalty I must say!)
