Glen Matthews new Quarter Midget (3.5cc)

This is the latest 3.5 cc QM design by Glen Matthews.  These small models use  modified Car engines - this one is powered by a Nova Rossi. It also has a pipe that was designed by Ranjit Phelan.  RPM are well in excess of 30,000.

We fly it from a small field - times are the lowest of all our racing classes.  It certainly is an exciting event.

Glen has manufactured his own hollow moulded wing.  In Australia we have developed a method of making moulds from blue foam cut with a hot wire - see article - about CNC foam cutting.

This model is very fast and is a credit to its designer.
