My artistic creativity was evident from an early age but lay dormant for a long time while I devoted myself to the traditional role of wife and mother to three children.  I am classically trained with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and I love the challenge of making art. My art is a creative expression of myself and how I want to be viewed in the world. I believe works of art can have multiple interpretations. Images can display simplistic beauty and decoration for sheer enjoyment and can also be confronting and thought provoking taking the viewer on a journey to find a deeper meaning.  My preoccupation is the drawn image. I am attracted to the spontaneity, tactility and intimacy of the process of drawing and it is for me an internal dialogue entailing discipline, exploration and risk.  My art is semi abstract with surrealistic and whimsical qualities often inspired by dreams. Others are derived from my responses to real life experiences and the dramas which we play out in our lives.  As an artist my main goal is to continue to express myself and to achieve success in this very competitive field.

With my drawings and paintings I work with canvas or paper using charcoal, graphite, oil, pastel, pen and wash or watercolour as well as mixed media.
