Galloway cattle are excellent
converters of feed and will marble off grass.
They are gentle on the land, docile, easy to manage and ideal for small holdings.
These 4 steers were scanned
mid winter and as Irrabina is not fattening country, they'd lost 1/2 their condition.
They came into winter at 4 - 5mm fat cover. However, the scanning results confirm
the marbling ability of Galloway
cattle as the marbling score ratio to rib and P8 fat cover is high. In Spring,
these steers had much higher EMA and
marble scores.
