Once the completed coil has been slid off the mandrel, it
is placed in the holder (which has a groove for it to sit in). |
 |
After this i put some liquid soap stuff (I use morning fresh, others
use Dawn) to lubricate the coil as it is cut. |
 |
The top plate is screwed on as per Dave's instructions, so that it is
not too tight nor too loose. With a icy pole stick, the coil is pushed
along until it reaches the 'stop'. This is an extra piece of metal that
sticks
down on the top plate. Once the coil rests against this (which is on the
left in this picture), the cutting motion (from right to left) ensures
that the koil does not move during cutting. |
