Confession is one of the Holy Sacraments of the Orthodox Church.
The practice of Confession is very important, as it provides us the gift of freedom, the cleansing and forgiveness of our sins. It is perhaps the most misunderstood and forgotten sacrament, even though it was charged to us from the Lord Jesus Christ when He said to His apostles, “If you forgive the sins of any it is forgiven them in heaven; and if you retain the sins of any they are retained in heaven.” (John 20:23).
